Try to double click the Aion entry in the launcher a couple of times, closing the error message after each.

That's all I've got, I'm afraid.

Launcher reinstall should fix it in a worst case scenario.

You could also try to repair Aion or try to rightclick->Check for Updates as opposed to double-clicking and see if that works.

Another thing -- wait for a minute or two before patching, after starting the launcher, to see if that fixes it.
