Aion Discussion Proxy Ban? permalink top

Did they temporarily (maybe, possibly, permanently) ban proxies again?

Nezekan atm is having trouble logging in with proxy services such as lowerping / gamepath.

P.S Hi Tamat / Ayase.
Please replace useless maintenance team as it seems maintenance does more damage to game's playability than stability.

Post edited.

I just urged some of you to contact our tech support with information regarding your proxy/connection. While it doesn't hurt, we will keep looking into this issue to see if we're able to find a more universal identifier.

We didn't ban any of these proxies during today's maintenance, but there may have been different factors at work. Stay tuned. And even more -- thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Received some updated information (I updated the previous post as to not give misleading information). We're continuing to look into this on our end and it's not necessarily essential for you to send us your proxy IP information. Cheers, guys.

Currently if you try and log on using a proxy service, after you log in and you switch to the Proxy's IP, you get the message:

"You have limited access. You are now being disconnected from the servers."

10 seconds later...BOOM.

Disconnect from your proxy service, all is fine.

Hey Oceanic customers...this is NCSoft's way of saying, FU.
If you don't switch IP just after connecting to the game, are you able to play? Is it possible for you to retain the proxy IP throughout?

(open question -- feel free to chime in)

If I connect without using the service, It connects normally.

If I connect without using the service, and in-game I activate the connection to the proxy, it doesn't affect the in-game ping, and it's useless.

I can't understand what you'v asked btw, can you explain better so I can reproduce and say what you want to be answered?
In the first example, do you connect to Smoothping after passing the login box to Aion, or do you connect to Smoothping before starting the game client?

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update. We're restarting Nezekan after making a quick change. We understand that there will still be those of you who continue to have problems connecting to other servers through proxy services so more information would be helpful. We're especially interested to know if anyone is using a free proxy service and connecting without any problems.

I wrote that the mentioned proxies (referring to IP addresses, not accounts) in this thread were not banned yesterday morning, nothing more. Any account bannings occuring due to proxy use in general is a different matter. Using proxies is not entirely risk-free since RMT companies use them as well and on rare occasions legit players get caught in friendly fire. Unless further factors play in, it can however many times be resolved.

I'm keeping my eyes on this thread to see if it's a tendency... if you've had the proxy service you use stop working for you, it would also be helpful to know which one that is.

Meanwhile asking the key people to find out if this is the case I thought there would be no harm in gathering some more data.

A fix is on the way but it will probably require us to reboot the servers to have effect. Stand by.

All right folks, the servers will be restarted almost immediately to fix this issue.

There's also an announcement up.
